About Tobias & Livio Meier

For Tobias and Livio Meier, their connection to Sedartis is no coincidence. As their surname suggests, they belong to the family that owns the Hotel Sedartis. Tobias is the son and Livio the grandson of Heinz and Beatrice Meier, who bought the Hotel Sedartis 20 years ago.

Livio enjoyed helping out in the kitchen at home from an early age. He now wants to continue this passion for cooking professionally and will start an apprenticeship as a chef in summer 2025. Until then, however, he is taking the opportunity to spend every Sunday evening in the kitchen for his family. He also likes to draw inspiration for the dishes he chooses from social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. In his free time, he likes to go fishing on the lake or hop on his mountain bike to explore the beautiful mountains. Golfing is also one of his hobbies, which he shares with his father and grandparents.

Tobias also discovered cooking for guests very early on, independently of his connection to the hotel. He regularly prepared the recipes from his first cookbook “Wir Kinder kochen gern” (We kids love to cook) with great passion. Often to cook for his siblings. Later, he gave free rein to his creativity with what was left in the fridge and ingredients that he bought on the way home from work and surprised his wife with his own culinary creations. He has worked in the IT industry for 30 years. If there is any time left over after work, he likes to spend it on the golf course or traveling with his family.

What does the dish mean to you?
Tobias: Autumn (“cozy” at home in front of the fireplace) and also memories of beautiful Piedmont.

What connection do you have to the court and why did you choose it?
The dish was created by AI (artificial intelligence). We wanted to know what the AI would conjure up in response to the question: “Create me a 5* autumn dish”. Of course, we cooked it straight away. Decorated with sliced summer truffles, the dish tastes fantastic.
AI will be with us more and more. We are only at the beginning of the possibilities. AI will support us in many areas. Of course, we will also have to master the associated challenges. As soon as we learn to deal effectively with the new possibilities that have arisen, we will benefit in many areas.

Who do you prefer to cook for?
Quite simply. For family, friends and all the guests we welcome to our parents’ vacation home. We have various barbecues (gas, charcoal, pellet smoker and water smoker) available everywhere. And these are used often and with pleasure.
