About Beatrice Meier

Beatrice Meier is co-owner of the Hotel Sedartis. Her husband, Heinz Meier, and she bought the hotel over 20 years ago and completely rebuilt it. The former Thalwilerhof has always been a popular meeting place in the village, and the Meier family still feels committed to this heritage today. It is very important to them to create a place where people can come together, enjoy themselves, exchange ideas and have a good time. In her private life, Beatrice Meier loves to cook. Although she never really learned to cook at home, she has acquired a lot of knowledge and learned the trade over the years. Her favorite thing to eat is good, varied and seasonal cuisine. That’s why she has enjoyed attending cooking courses in the past. At home, she would recreate these menus for the family on special holidays. Even today, she doesn’t serve the same dish every year at Christmas, but always tries out and celebrates something new.

3 questions for Beatrice Meier

What does the dish mean to you?
For me, it means spring! 😊

What connection do you have to the court and why did you choose it?
Restaurant visits were not common in my generation. Once a year, we went out to eat asparagus as a family in Flaach, which was always a highlight for us. As asparagus was already one of the most exquisite vegetables back then, it was always something special for me and I looked forward to it. I loved asparagus as a child just as much as I do today. I associate the dish with my childhood and that’s why I chose it.

Who do you prefer to cook for?
I enjoy cooking for guests. Then it can also be a little more elaborate.
